IMPACT REPORT I M PAC T REPORT FISCAL YEAR 2021 2022 My Dear Brothers and Sisters On the next five pages you will find a diocesan Impact Report for the 2021 22 Fiscal Year Here you will see the many ways our Church in the Diocese of Gaylord is alive and flourishing The numbers show the countless acts of service that take place in each of our parishes every day as we strive to love God and neighbor As I reflect on all the good that took place in just 12 months in our diocese I am overwhelmed with gratitude and with a sense of awe It takes each person with his or her own gifts and talents to make up this remarkable mosiac that is the Body of Christ It s only together as one body working in unity that we fulfill God s mission and bring his light into this world It is said that one should be careful not to lose sight of the forest through the trees my hope is that this impact report helps us see both the forest and each individual tree We are part of a vast universal Church yet it is through every baptism every priest serving his parish every dollar donated to someone in need through each act of love great or small that we are made whole When we reflect on the individual moments and people served in the past year we can more clearly see the full picture of God s goodness to us how our faithful response brings about hope and peace in this world You are a part of this story and I m grateful for you I pray that you find the same joy I do when reflecting on our Catholic Church s unified mission in Northern Michigan And never forget what an important role you play in this Body of Christ There is no one else on this earth equipped to serve exactly like you In Christ our Life Most Reverend Jeffrey J Walsh Bishop of Gaylord 22 FAITH along Michigan s 45th Parallel MAY JUNE 2023
